Jul 04, 2017 (newstodate): The current crisis with neighboring countries barring the carrier from their airspace has forced Qatar Airways to rethink its strategy.
The closure of a number of regional routes has freed aircraft capacity to be invested in new projects, or to bring forward the start of projects earlier decided upon.
As one example, Qatar Airways has now announced the opening of the planned new route between Doha and Prague, in the Czech Republic, by August 21, 2017 already, offering daily rotations with Airbus A320 aircraft.
According to the plan in place before the outbreak of the Gulf crisis, Qatar Airways slated the opening of the route from the start of next summer's schedule.
Already since March 3, 2016, Qatar Airways Cargo has been operating a twice-weekly Airbus A330-200 freighter service between Doha and Prague.
