Jul 31, 2017 (newstodate): Emirates SkyCargo has returned to Denmark's Copenhagen Airport with a weekly freighter service.
The first flight was performed on July 21, 2017, and this is now the carrier's second Scandinavian freighter service after the opening of the weekly service between Norway's Oslo Airport and Dubai on October 11, 2016.
The Oslo freighter was actually earlier dedicated to Copenhagen but moved from there to serve instead Norway's seafood exporters, leaving Copenhagen Airport a blank point on Emirates SkyCargo's route network.
Earlier, Emirates SkyCargo made Copenhagen Airport its Scandinavian freighter hub from July 1, 2014, with up to 11 weekly freighter operations, increasing to up to 55 weekly calls as the carrier also routed a varying number of unscheduled flights through the airport on North Atlantic routes.
