Aug 16, 2017 (newstodate): The coming cooperation between Icelandair and Cabo Verde's ailing national airline TACV Cabo Verde Airlines is good news for the Icelandic pilots as well.
The earlier announcement of 115 redundancies comprised also 50 Icelandair pilots. But this has now changed.
The pilots will find renewed opportunities within the project to bring back TACV Cabo Verde Airlines on firm footing after a free fall in financing and a series of lay-offs.
As a strategic partner with TACV and the Government of Cabo Verde, and in co-operation with other subsidiaries of Icelandair Group, Loftleidir Icelandic will provide managerial support including network planning, marketing, sales and distribution planning as well as restructuring of TACV's fleet that today comprises only one Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
