Aug 15, 2017 (newstodate): The Danish air charter broker company Blackbird Air Charter remains committed to serving also the air cargo market - but it is a tough business.
-Our by far largest growth potential remains in the passenger and VIP charter market, but we remain committed to carving our niche also in the cargo market, says Ole Christiansen, Blackbird Air Charter CEO.
-The challenge nowadays is that most of the larger freight forwarders are actually fully capable of handling their needs for chartering freighters like IL-76 and AN-124 themselves, which used to be an attractive market for cargo charter brokers.
-With this development, our focus in this business segment is to provide for everything else when it comes to requests for finding optimal solutions for more complex cargo charters. But admittedly, we do not receive a request for this on a daily basis, says Mr Christiansen.
Set up on January 1, 2015, at Vejle, Blackbird Air Charter has now moved all activities to new premises at Billund Airport and has also completed a thorough restructuring of the company.
As before, Blackbird Air Charter is operating a business unit focusing on serving the market with passenger and cargo air charter solutions, another business unit is Blackbird Crew, and the third - and new - business unit is Blackbird Air with on an own AOC currently supporting the operations of one Falcon 7X and one Falcon 2000S but opening up also for future additions of new aircraft types.
