Aug 29, 2017 (newstodate): The Danish aircraft lessor Nordic Aviation Capital has now delivered the second Embraer E190 to its new CIS customer, Azerbaijan Airlines.
This completes a two-aircraft order signed earlier in 2017, and the aircraft will go to Azerbaijan Airlines' new low-cost subsidiary Buta, to be based at Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
Buta will take to the air on its first commercial flight on September 1, 2017, offering flights from Baku to Moscow, Kyiv, Antalya, Kazan, Mineralnye Vody, Tbilisi and Tehran.
Next phase will start from October 29, 2017 with flights from Baku to Istanbul and St Petersburg, and from Ganja to Moscow.
Buta will eventually have a fleet comprising eight Embraer E190 aircraft.
