Aug 22, 2017 (newstodate): Serving with IATA in the Nordic/Baltic regions since March 2011, Raimonds Gruntins is now moving upwards to a new challenge within the organization.
From September 1, 2017, Mr Gruntins will move from Stockholm to IATA's Regional Headquarters for Europe in Madrid as IATA Director Regional Affairs.
-This is an entirely new position, and intentions are to work across all divisional boundaries with a team of eight or nine staff, with responsibility for representing and promoting the airline interests in European markets including the EU, Russia, CIS, and Turkey in issues of security, safety, sales, airport passenger and cargo handling etc, says Mr Gruntins.
-The new position is also to take responsibility for working out business plans and strategies and will also include responsibility for internal and external communication reflecting the underlying concept of a holistic approach.
