Aug 03, 2017 (newstodate): Iceland's cargo carrier Bluebird Cargo has now taken delivery of its second Boeing 737-400 freighter.
The freighter is delivered on a lease contract with KV Aviation after conversion by Aeronautical Engineers, Inc.
In the fleet are thus a total of six aircraft including also four Boeing 737-300 converted freighters.
Established in 2000, Bluebird Cargo received its AOC in early 2001 under JAROPS1, and was the first Icelandic airline to be certified from the start of operations under European standards.
Operations started in March of 2001, with one Boeing 737-300 freighter aircraft routing daily from Iceland via the United Kingdom to Cologne, Germany.
Besides offering ACMI services to integrators, Bluebird Cargo also provides all-inclusive cargo services as well as blocked-space or part-charter/scheduled capacity to freight forwarders and integrators on long term basis, and independently fills remaining cargo capacity on the flights through an extensive network of partners and associated companies.
