Aug 11, 2017 (newstodate): Icelandic know-how is to help turn-around Cabo Verde's IOSA-certified national airline TACV Cabo Verde Airlines.
A subsidiary of Icelandair Group, Loftleidir Icelandic, TACV Cabo Verde Airlines and the Government of Cabo Verde entered into a management agreement on the restructuring of the loss-making TACV Cabo Verde Airlines and position it as a key strategic asset to contribute to Cabo Verde's potential as a year-round tourist destination, and to develop Cabo Verdes position as a connecting hub with a CAT 1 airport linking four continents.
As a strategic partner with TACV and the Government of Cabo Verde, and in co-operation with other subsidiaries of Icelandair Group, Loftleidir Icelandic will provide managerial support including network planning, marketing, sales and distribution planning as well as restructuring of TACVs fleet that today comprises only one Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
TACV has been in free fall and recently forced to lay-off much staff as well as stop inter-island flights in an effort to keep alive.
