Aug 30, 2017 (newstodate): Over the years, the Latvian carrier airBaltic has been in and out on the route between Riga and Gothenburg in Sweden.
Now it seems that the carrier has gained firm ground under its route between Riga and Gothenburg, announcing that the service will now be turned into a year-round operation with four weekly rotations during the coming winter schedule.
airBaltic first added Gothenburg to its route network from October 29, 2006, with three weekly Fokker 50 flights, but suspended services again from April 2011.
Next, a second attempt was made with flights starting from April 14, 2014, with four weekly rotations on the route using Bombardier Q400.
This service also did not last long, however, as the flights were soon suspended again with the last rotation on October 30, 2014.
The third and seemingly successful attempt was then made as services between Riga and Gothenburg were resumed from June 1, 2017, with six weekly rotations during the summer schedule, using Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
