Sep 26, 2017 (newstodate): Cargolux proved to be a short-lived provider of seafood uplift from Norway's Oslo Airport.
The carrier has announced its retreat from the route from Oslo to Luxembourg with onward connections to the the world's seafood market places.
The Tuesday freighter service was launched only on November 1, 2016, with a Boeing 777F on its return flight from USA.
No reason for the decision to stop the operation has been publicly offered, but is is well-known that with the congestion of freighters on Tuesdays the fight for shipments has put a strong pressure on rates that are always at the low end for Norwegian seafood exports.
Also the start from September 8, 2017, of DHL's twice-weekly freighter service at Oslo, serving only the company's own customers, has had an impact on the airfreight market.
