Sep 06, 2017 (newstodate): In August 2017, Finnair grew its total cargo volumes by 16.7 percent, y-o-y, to 14,576 tonnes.
The increase on the Asian lanes weighed heavily on the success with a total of 9,751 tonnes, up a healthy 22.3 percent, while the North Atlantic traffic increased only by one percent to 893 tonnes and the European traffic even declined by 1.9 percent to 2,178 tonnes.
Volumes on Finnair's three weekly freighter flights between Helsinki and Brussels, operated by DHL, and cargo space rented on Japan Airlines' daily flights between Tokyo and Helsinki accounted for 1,716 tonnes, up 34.1 percent.
During the first eight months of 2017, Finnair is thus 4.7 percent, y-o-y, uip on volumes totaling 100,946 tonnes including 64,587 tonnes on the Asian lanes, up 6.9 percent.
