Sep 22, 2017 (newstodate): Tajikistan's privately-owned carrier Somon Air has passed two important milestones, further clearing its integration in the global aviation environment.
By the end of August 2016, the carrier obtained TCO authorization by EASA allowing the carrier to perform flights to European Union countries, the EU and within the EU.
The second milestone was passed this month as Somon Air as the first in Tajikistan and the third in the Central Asian region obtained the certificate of membership of the International Air Transport Association, IATA.
As an IATA member, Somon Air can now conclude interline and code share agreements with leading international carriers, providing the airline with the opportunity to deliver passengers and cargo to all destinations outside the Somon Air route network.
Somon Air currently performs flights from Tajikistan to destinations in Germany, UAE, Turkey, China, Russia and Kazakhstan with its fleet of two Boeing 737-300, two Boeing 737-800 and two Boeing 737-900ER aircraft.
