Jan 26, 2018 (newstodate): The heated political animosity dividing Greece and Macedonia has spilled over into the issue of the name of Macedonia's capital airport.
Originally named Skopje Airport, the Macedonian government renamed it Skopje Alexander the Great Airport much to the anger of its Greek neighbor that disputes Macedonia's right to take ownership of the name of the region's legendary king, Alexander II (356 BC 323 BC).
Now the leaders of the two states meeting at Davos have finally agreed to remove this barrier to building new and more friendly relations, with Macedonia accepting to rename Skopje's airport once again - with the final solution yet to be announced.
