Oct 31, 2018 (newstodate): The largest international airport serving the Moscow region, Sheremetyevo International Airport will soon see the opening of its new 3rd runway.
The 3,200m runway will allow the airport to raise capacity from today's 55 movements per hour to 90.
The commissioning of the new runway capable of handling all types and sizes or aircraft will allow for simultaneous flight operations at two runways, providing new opportunities for airline operators.
The start of operations has now been set for March 2019 which is years later than originally planned, primarily due to delays in completing the system of the main pipelines constituting the centralized hydrant system.
