Nov 01, 2018 (newstodate): The new Swedish ACMI carrier under formation, ScanBlu is still kept on hold prior to launch of operations.
Initially, ScanBlu's hopes were to have the first aircraft in the fleet as well as the AOC in place already before the end of April 2018 - later extended into the cause of May, but the process has been drawing out... and out..
-We now expect to have the AOC in place by mid-November, and our first aircraft, an Airbus A321 is actually now to arrive in Sweden for registration after completing its last check, says Bo-Goran Svensson, ScanBlu Flight Operations Manager.
-There is a strong demand in the market for ACMI capacity, not least in the wake of the demise of Primera Air and other carriers, and we expect to expand our fleet soon after getting into business before the end of this year, says Mr Svensson.
Managed by Christian Tadjeran as CEO and accountable manager, ScanBlu will offer aircraft capacity in the passenger charter and ACMI market.
