Feb 13, 2018 (newstodate): New customer with the US leasing company Air Lease Corporation is the Faroese carrier Atlantic Airways.
The carrier has signed a long-term lease agreement with ALC for one Airbus A320-200neo, slated for delivery by March 2019.
In the fleet of Atlantic Airways are now three Airbus A320 Family aircraft including two A320-200 and one A319-100 aircraft.
After delivery, the Airbus A320neo will be serving the trunk route between Vagar and Copenhagen, adding more capacity than currently provided with the Airbus A320 serving the route.
The aircraft to be delivered to Atlantic Airways is found in ALC's current order log with Airbus comprising 31 Airbus A320neo aircraft.
There are no details of which engine type will be driving the Atlantic Airways aircraft.
Last week, Airbus stopped accepting deliveries of the Pratt & Whitney PW1100G geared turbofan engine due to recurrent operational problems with the engine, causing the aircraft delivery scheme to slip again.
