May 11, 2018 (newstodate): The Korean ministry in charge of civil aviation has granted traffic rights for Korean Air to launch services to the Balkan region.
The carrier has thus been cleared to start flights scheduled from Seoul to Croatia in 2018 with five weekly rotations.
It remains to be seen, however, if Korean Air will actually exercise these new rights.
In the meantime, Korean Air is already serving the route between Seoul and Zagreb with seasonal summer flights using Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
The rights to operate flights to Croatia was part of a parcel comprising 36 weekly flights to 19 destinations by six Korean carriers.
But Zagreb ranks #1 among destinations on Koran Air's Summer 2018 charter schedule, ahead of Oslo, Glasgow and Marseilles.
