Sep 14, 2018 (newstodate): Iran is to take legal action against ATR for not fulfilling the contract comprising delivery of 20 ATR 72-600 aircraft.
Prior to the implementation of full US sanctions, ATR managed to deliver 13 aircraft, but the remaining seven aircraft are now being reallocated to other customers.
The Iranian government is now accusing ATR of unnecessarily yielding to US political pressure from the U.S.
-This company is obliged to either comply with its remaining commitments or pay compensations to Iran, Mohammadreza Rezaei-Kouchi, Head of the Iranian parliaments Civil Commission, told Iranian press.
Airbus and Boeing may later face similar lawsuits over failing to deliver the contracted aircraft.
