Oct 28, 2019 (newstodate): As the new winter 2019/20 schedule took effect from October 27, 2019, Latvia's Riga Airport added six new airport destinations to its time table.
17 airlines will operate flights to 76 destinations during the winter season, with new-comer Laudamotion to launch service from Riga Airport to Vienna with four weekly rotations on the route.
airBaltic has extended its summer flights to Athens, Dublin, Reykjavik and Stuttgart, thus providing four more destinations for the winter season, while Ryanair will resume flights to Bremen with three weekly rotations.
With the new winter schedule, Ryanair has changed its service from Girona Airport to Barcelona Airport, while Wizz Air has transferred its flights from Eilat/Ovda Airport to Eilat/Ramona Airport.
During the first nine months of this year, Riga Airport has handled almost six million passengers, an increase by 10.7 percent, y-o-y, making it the fifth fastest growing airport in Europe in the group of airports handling with 5-15 million passengers annually, according to ACI.
