Nov 07, 2019 (newstodate): One Armenian carrier has had its wings clipped: Taron-Avia.
Following an inspection detecting several safety deficiencies, the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia has suspended the carrier's AOC and operating licence.
Founded in 2007, Taron-Avia with three Boeing 737-500 aircraft in the fleet ceased operations in 2018, but returned operations again this spring eyeing a niche in circumventing the Russian ban on direct flights between Russia and Georgia by routing its traffic via Armenia from April 2019.
