Mar 21, 2019 (newstodate): For the Lithuanian ACMI and charter carrier GetJet Airlines, both market segments count - but ACMI has the top priority.
-Our approach as a company is based on building robust partnerships with tour operators and airlines. That is why we have focused strongly on securing long-term contracts across the range of services we offer, says Darius Viltrakis, GetJet CEO.
-In late 2018, we signed long-term contracts with the two largest tour operators in the region for charter services. And in terms of ACMI, we operate on behalf of major European legacy airlines like Finnair and LOT Polish Airlines.
-This strategy has delivered rapid growth – our growth rate has literally doubled each year in the past three years. It has also enabled us to gain an increasingly prominent position in the market, and now our focus is on optimization and efficiency, goals that our long-term contracts will help to facilitate.
-There is clearly a potential for our Airbus aircraft in both the charter and the ACMI markets. At present, one of our four Airbus A320 aircraft is contracted for full charter operations, while the remainder of our Airbus fleet is dedicated to ACMI operations.
-And it is important to underline that, while charter is an important part of our service offering, ACMI remains our priority and accounts for the largest part of our capacity, says Mr Viltrakis.
