Apr 10, 2019 (newstodate): Finnair has announced a new increase in frequency on its route to Tokyo Narita in the next winter schedule.
The carrier will thus go up from earlier seven to nine weekly rotations, with the two new flights operated in a code-share agreement with Japan Airlines as are the earlier seven rotations.
The two oneworld partners Finnair and Japan Airlines started code-sharing on Finnair's flights between Finland and Japan from June 3, 2008, while the two airlines had code-shared their flights on their networks beyond Finland and Japan, respectively, since 2003.
Japan Airlines operated its first flight from Tokyo Narita Airport to Helsinki, Finland, on February 25, 2013, now offering daily rotations on the route
The code-share agreement now covers passenger sales only, as the similar cooperation since 2014 on the cargo side was abrogated from November 1, 2017, when JAL Cargo appointed the Dutch cargo company J-Air bv as GSSA for sales of the cargo capacity on its daily Boeing 787-8 service.
