Dec 15, 2020 (newstodate): As part of its ongoing restructuring, Thai Airways is putting a large part of its aircraft fleet up for sale.
No less than 42 of its fleet today comprising 61 aircraft is for sale, including 10 Boeing 747-400, 12 Boeing 777 and two of six Airbus A380 aircraft.
The sale will however only be activated after the approval of the carrier's business plan and with the approval by stakeholders and the Thai bankruptcy court currently handling the carrier's case.
The carrier's petition for reconstruction, filed on May 27, 2020, was granted by the Central Bankruptcy Court on 14 September 14, allowing the company to proceed with its recovery plans.
