Dec 07, 2020 (newstodate): Before the end of this month, the Latvian carrier airBaltic will receive another two Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
With these deliveries, the carrier will have a fleet of 25 aircraft in its A220-200 fleet.
The 24th aircraft thus lifted off on its first test flight already on September 29, 2020, and the 25th - and last delivery slated for 2020 - took to the skies on October 17, 2020. Both aircraft are thus ready for ferry flights to Riga.
In August 2020, airBaltic and Airbus signed an agreement on a revised Airbus A220-300 delivery schedule for the remaining aircraft on firm orders.
Under the agreement, airBaltic will take delivery of the last of the remaining Airbus A220-300 in this batch by early 2024, earlier slated for 2023.
airBaltic was the launch carrier of the Bombardier CS300, later renamed Airbus A220-300, with its first CS300 on scheduled flights from December 14, 2016.
