May 18, 2020 (newstodate): Currently the only carrier on-line between Norway and the UK with scheduled passenger services, Norway's regional carrier Wideroe is building up services to Aberdeen.
Starting from May 11, 2020, Wideroe is going up to two daily rotations between Bergen and Aberdeen, and from June 1, 2020, the carrier will return flights on the route between Stavanger and Aberdeen with one daily rotation.
The flights will be performed with Wideroe's new Embraer 190-E2 aircraft delivered in December 2019, and Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft.
The Aberdeen-flights connect with Wideroe's domestic network and are important especially for the off-shore oil and gas and related industries in the two markets.
In March 2020, Wideroe named Wexco Cargo GSSA its new provider in the UK market.
