May 29, 2020 (newstodate): Good results from Singapore Airlines' first series of all-cargo flights between Singapore and Copenhagen have proved a success - to be continued.
From next week, Singapore Airlines will start operating two weekly all-cargo Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the route, with Wednesdays and Fridays on the schedule.
The carrier performed the first all-cargo operation from Singapore to Copenhagen on April 2, 2020, under a plan initially comprising seven rotations between Singapore and Copenhagen but later prolonged, week by week, until the service has now been established on a scheduled basis.
-So far, the all-cargo flights will continue until further notice - no one can predict longer-term developments during this period, says Nete Kilting, Singapore Airlines Cargo Manager Nordic & Baltic.
-Driven by imports, the experience so far shows that there is indeed a significant export market as well, with not only Danish, but also Swedish and Norwegian shipments destined for Singapore and beyond, benefiting from the airline's extensive route network including not least onward transfers on both freighters and passenger aircraft to Australia, says Ms Kilting.
