Jul 27, 2020 (newstodate): Signing a new contract after a tender process, SAS has confirmed its cooperation with Wideroe Ground Handling at a number of Norway's airports.
Under the renewed contract taking effect from February 1, 2021, SAS has picked WGH for ground services at 12 out of 15 airports including Kirkenes, Alta, Lakselv, Svalbard, Evenes, Bodo, Trondheim, Kristiansund, Molde, Stavanger, Haugesund og Aalesund.
At the same time, Wideroe Ground Handling has lost the contract with SAS at the airports of Kristiansand, Bergen and Tromso where a five-year contract has instead been signed with Aviator Airport Alliance for ground handling services.
From February 2, 2016, Wideroe took over all SAS Ground Handling's activities in Norway except for Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
All SGH staff in Norway, equipment and contracts at 14 Norwegian airports were thus transferred to Wideroe Ground Handling
