Aug 17, 2020 (newstodate): Good news for Norway's seafood exporters: AirBridgeCargo is returning to Oslo!
Starting from September 1, 2020, the cargo carrier will re-introduce its two weekly flights from Oslo to Seoul and Tokyo Narita on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
It remains to be seen if ABC or its partner airline CargoLogicAir will be operating the route.
Starting from November 15, 2016, AirBridgeCargo offered a twice-weekly freighter service from Oslo to Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, even going up to three weekly flights from May 28, 2019.
The service at Oslo Airport was however suspended from August 2, 2019, when the Russian authorities abruptly implemented a ban on transfer of perishables at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport.
At first, a temporary solution was found in routing the ABC flights from Oslo to Seoul via Karaganda Airport in Kazakhstan for re-fuelling. But this came to an end as well, leaving the service grounded.
The ban on handling perishables transfers at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport was lifted only from August 1, 2020, allowing AirBridgeCargo to resume its seafood uplift service at Oslo Airport.
