Jan 27, 2021 (newstodate): As the third CIS country after Azerbaijan and Armenia, Kazakhstan has been granted observer status at ECAC, the European Civil Aviation Conference.
The collaboration will cover flight safety, accident investigation, aviation safety, environment, and other areas of international civil aviation.
Headed by UK national Peter Griffiths as Director General CAA Kazakhstan, the aviation authorities of Kazakhstan plan to become a full member of the ECAC in the future, which will allow participation in closed meetings only for ECAC member States and will ensure further work on the implementation of European civil aviation standards in Kazakhstan.
In 2017, Kazakhstan was lifted off the EU Black List, allowing all Kazakh carrier access into EU markets, and in 2018 Kazakhstan passed the safety audit of ICAO, confirming a high level of compliance with international standards.
