Oct 06, 2021 (newstodate): Ireland's newest regional airline, Emerald Airlines, has signed a lease contract with the Danish regional aircraft lessor, Nordic Aviation Capital.
Under the contract, Emerald Airlines will take lease of four ATR 72-600 aircraft to enter service on Aer Lingus Regional's route network from 1 January 1, 2023, until the end of 2032.
Earlier, Emerald Airlines signed a similar aircraft lease contract with Chorus Aviation Capital for the delivery of six ATR72-600 aircraft, with the first aircraft joining the airline in October, with the remaining aircraft expected for delivery over the next 12 months.
Emerald Airlines has been granted the exclusive franchise for the operating Air Lingus' regional routes and landed its AOC only in September 2021.
