Nov 12, 2021 (newstodate): Finland's Helsinki Airport has seen its total cargo volumes rising in January-October 2021.
A total of 134,405 tonnes of cargo, domestic and international cargo and mail included, was handled which is an increase by 17 percent, y-o-y.
Securing the growth was international cargo and mail that were up 17.5 percent, y-o-y, to 133,448 tonnes in the period.
Prospects for sustained recovery will be lifted as the airport's lead customer, Finnair continues to rebuild its long haul flights network.
From November 2, 2021, the carrier has returned flights on the route from Helsinki to Guangzhou with two weekly rotations, and flights from Helsinki to Nanjing were resumed from November 9, also with two weekly rotations - both routes served with Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
In October, Finnair also returned on its route to Beijing with two weekly rotations, while flights to Shanghai have been increased to seven weekly rotations in W'21.
