Aug 18, 2021 (newstodate): So far a rare sight at Lithuania's Siauliai Airport, the Airbus A340 is now to become a common guest at the airport.
Based at Siauliai Airport, the MRO company Aviatic MRO is thus waiting for six Airbus A340 aircraft from the Maltese airline Airhub Airlines to arrive this week and next.
The six aircraft will receive technical maintenance at Aviatic MRO's facilities, and some of the aircraft will be converted to all-cargo version during their month-long stay.
Already in June, Airhub Aviation took delivery of its first Airbus A340-300 aircraft, formerly operated by Air Tahiti, aiming at the pax and cargo charter and ACMI markets.
The aircraft was flown to Siauliai Airport for maintenance by Aviatic MRO as part of the registration process to the Maltese aircraft register and Airhub Airlines AOC, and will launch all-cargo operations from this month.
With Aleksandr Celiadin as its Chairman, Airhub Aviation is a subsidiary of the Lithuanian company Getjet Airlines that in 2019 became the first Baltic airline to introduce wide-body aircraft in the form of Airbus A330-300 in February 2019..
