Sep 14, 2021 (newstodate): Copenhagen Airport will see six more route reopenings in September 2021, bringing the total network to 113 destinations served by carriers on 189 routes.
The new openings include flights by the Iraqi carrier UR Airlines between Baghdad and Copenhagen; flights by SAS to Miami, Tenerife and Larnaca; flights by Norwegian to Las Palmas, and flights by Aegean Airlines to Kalmata - all with one weekly rotation.
While good tidings for the tourism markets, the reopening of the routes brings little comfort to the air cargo industry, where the sustained scarcity of belly cargo capacity remains a bottle-neck.
In January-August 2021, the belly cargo volumes were thus still 27 percent below the pre-Covid levels in 2019.
