Sep 29, 2021 (newstodate): October 2021 will mark the final withdrawal of the MD-11F workhorse in Lufthansa Cargo's fleet.
    The company's last remaining MD-11F will perform its final touch-down at Frankfurt Airport on October 15, 2021, after performing the last rotations to Cairo, Tel Aviv, Chicago and New York.
    At its height operating 18 MD-11F freighters, Lufthansa Cargo had planned to retire its remaining MD-11 fleet by December 2020, but this was delayed due to the increased cargo demand caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
   The future with Lufthansa Cargo now belongs to the Boeing 777F of which nine are now with the company while a further two will be delivered also in October 2021, bringing the fleet to 11 aircraft.
   In addition, Lufthansa Cargo also manages the capacity of four Boeing 777F aircraft operated by the JV carrier AeroLogic.
