Feb 01, 2022 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic is the Baltic region's largest carrier with services in Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania.
   But strong competition from low-cost carriers Wizz Air and Ryanair especially is making a deep impact on airBaltic's shares of the three Baltic markets for air travel.
   In its home turf, Latvia, airBaltic's market share was down from 61 to 60 percent in Q3/2021 compared to Q3/2020; in Estonia the market share dropped from 31 to 25 percent, and in the Lithuanian market airBaltic was down from 22 to 11 percent in Q3/2021 compared to the Q3/2020.
   In 2019, airBaltic's share of the Latvian air transport market was 58 percent; in Estonia the market share was 21 percent, and in Lithuania airBaltic accounted for 12 percent of the air travel market.
