Jun 07, 2022 (newstodate): The Icelandic virtual carrier Niceair has come off to a good start on its first route from Akureyri to Copenhagen from June 2, 2022.
However, the situation is not equally "nice and easy" when it comes to the routes from Akureyri to London and Manchester.
-We have temporarily suspended sales to London Stansted and Manchester due to uncertainties regarding licensing, says Thorvaldur Ludvik Sigurjonsson, Niceair CEO.
-We do not yet know at this point as to why exactly, since a Jubilee and Bank Holiday Weekend has been happening with few people to answer our calls.
-Our foreign office is on the situation with us. A most peculiar situation, which I understand is Brexit-related.
According to plans, flights to the UK were slated for launch on June 3, 2022.
Nice Air is also to start flights from Akureyri to Tenerife from June 8, 2022 - and this is proceeding as planned.
-Bookings on both the route to Copenhagen and Tenerife remain firm, says Mr Sigurjonsson.
