Jan 02, 2023 (newstodate): Latvia's airBaltic managed to take delivery of one of its two last Airbus A220-300 aircraft slated for delivery before the end of 2022.
The 39th aircraft left the production site in Canada and landed at Riga Airport in the wee hours of December 31, 2022, after only a week's test flights.
While the airline thus barely missed the 40 aircraft target by year-end 2022, two more Airbus A220-300 aircraft are already on the final assembly line that is, however, also marked by continuous snags in the global supply chains leading to delays in production.
The main plan and the goal remains unchanged: airBaltic is aiming towards a fleet of 50 aircraft by early 2024.
