Jan 04, 2023 (newstodate): Member of the Emirates Group, Dnata is building and investing big in the Kurdish part of Iraq.
Yesterday, Dnata broke ground on a new, 20,000 m2 cargo warehouse which will add significant expansion to its operations at Erbil International Airport.
Slated for commissioning by September 2024, the new cargo facility will be capable of processing 100,000 tonnes of cargo annually, including perishables, pharmaceuticals and dangerous goods.
dnata will also implement its advanced OneCargo system within the facility, digitizing processes and maximizing efficiencies across its cargo operations in Iraq.
dnata’s latest expansion follows the opening of a new cool chain facility and a bus maintenance facility in 2022 at Erbil International Airport, where the company currently provides ground handling and cargo services to over 25 airlines.
Since March 10, 2010, dnata Airport Services LLC has been offering ground handling services in Erbil, Iraq, initially offering passenger handling operations for six airlines, later expanding to comprise also baggage, ramp, and cargo handling services to airlines operating at Erbil International Airport.
