Nov 27, 2023 (newstodate): With the addition of Stavanger from November 23, 2023, Lufthansa Cargo now counts 19 destinations on its European Short-haul Freighter Network.
The route connecting Frankfurt and Stavanger is now served once-weekly and also brings Copenhagen Airport back on the carrier's network on the return flight from Stavanger.
Copenhagen Airport saw the first A321F flight from Frankfurt on September 28, 2023, and later also a second flight coming in from Helsinki on September 28, 2023, continuing to Frankfurt.
However, both these routes were later changed due to capacity restraints pending more aircraft deliveries to Lufthansa Cargo, temporarily suspending Lufthansa Cargo's A321F services to Copenhagen.
The situation is, however, hardly stable; Lufthansa Cargo has been continuously changing routing, frequencies and destinations since the first operation from Frankfurt to Dublin on March 15, 2022.
The bottleneck remains today's sparse Airbus A321F aircraft capacity, counting only four units:
-There are currently no plans for a fifth A321F aircraft, says a Lufthansa Cargo spokesperson on newstodate's inquiry.
