Nov 28, 2023 (newstodate): WIZZ Air is to strengthen its already strong presence in the Georgian market.
Before the end of this year, the carrier will base a fourth Airbus A321 aircraft at Kutaisi David Agmashenebeli International Airport, marking also a new phase in the airport's connectivity.
The coming fourth aircraft will allow for the opening of new routes between Kutaisi and European destinations; among these will be the launch of direct flights from Copenhagen Airport with two weekly rotations.
Wizz Air was the first European LCC to enter the Georgian market with flights between Kiev and Kutaisi from October 29, 2012, and opened its base at Kutaisi Airport on September 23, 2016, with one aircraft, adding a second aircraft at the airport on May 17, 2018, and a third from May 2019.
Wizz Air currently serves 28 direct destinations in 16 countries at Kutaisi Airport using three A321 aircraft.
