Aug 29, 2023 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Aeroflot is not overly happy with results from its cooperation with Iran for aircraft maintenance.
Due to western sanction, Aeroflot is forced to find byways for maintenance of its western aircraft as import of spares and components are barred.
In an effort to overcome this situation, Aeroflot is starting cooperation with Iranian providers, after years of sanctions experienced in establishing channels for the supply of unofficial spare parts.
However, the maintenance process is seemingly working slowly; one Aeroflot Airbus A330 was sent to Tehran on April 5, 2023, and due for return by September 2023 after completion of maintenance works.
According to the Russian media Aviatorshchina telegram channel, the delivery date has now been extended to March 2024, instead, with Aeroflot complaining of slow proceedings by its partner, Mahan Air.
