Sep 07, 2023 (newstodate): Warm relations between Russia and Myanmar will develop further with the opening of commercial flights between the two countries.
   According to Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency, Myanmar will become the 38th country with which Russia has direct flights as Myanmar Airways International commences once-weekly flights between Yangon and Moscow this autumn.
   Plans also include the opening of flights to St Petersburg and Novosibirsk.
   Direct flights between the two countries were last performed some 30 years ago.
   -The aviation authorities of Russia welcome the decision of Myanmar Airways International to launch regular flights to Russia. This is a significant contribution to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation, tourism and the expansion of business contacts between the Russian Federation and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Rosaviatsia says in a release.
