Oct 30, 2024 (newstodate): Aviator Airport Alliance has expanded its cooperation with Icelandair to comprising handling at three more Nordic airports.
New to come is the implementation of a three-year contract for handling by Aviator of Icelandair at Stockholm Arlanda and Gothenburg Airport from end of October, with Copenhagen Airport to be added from early November 2024.
Aviator has been handling Icelandair at Helsinki Airport since 2014, providing a full package of ground handling services including passenger and ramp handling, and de-icing for Icelandair's 25 monthly flights from Helsinki to Keflavik.
This contract was last extended in 2023 for another three-year period.
Still pending is the issue of handling of Icelandair at Oslo Airport, where SGH has been the carrier's handling provider till now.
As was the case at the Danish and Swedish airports, this is to change at Oslo as well after SGH is forced to leave the 3rd party handling business as an element in the EU-approved restructuring plan for SAS.
