Oct 28, 2024 (newstodate): Vagar Airport serving the Faroe Islands will need more terminal space to cope with growth in passenger volumes.
   The tender call is now out for submitting an application for pre-approval, with October 30, 2024, as the deadline, with three to five successful bidders invited to place final bids.
   So far, 2023 broke the record with 431,000 passengers handled at the terminal at Vagar, but estimates are that this year will again raise the lever to exceed 450,000 passengers, driving the needs for more terminal handling space.
   Today, five passenger airlines offer regular flights to and from Vagar Airport: Atlantic Airways, Wideroe, SAS, and Icelandair
