Oct 30, 2024 (newstodate): The US market has now been opened for the Latvian charter and ACMI carrier SmartLynx Airlines.
   The carrier has obtained the Foreign Air Operator Certificate, FAOC, by the US Federal Aviation Administration, allowing the airline to begin operations to, from, and within the United States and thus enabling it to land ACMI contracts with airlines operating cross-continental full charter and ACMI flights to and from the USA.
   Member of the Avia Solutions Group, the carrier's fleet comprises 63 aircraft including 29 Airbus A320, four Airbus A330-300, 17 Airbus A321, 11 Airbus A321F, and nine Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
