Nov 26, 2024 (newstodate): The Georgian cargo airline Camex Airlines has now taken delivery of its first wide-body freighter.
Placed on a lease contract with Airborne Global Leasing, the Boeing 767-300 converted freighter joins the carrier's fleet comprising three Boeing 737-800 converted freighters, and Camex Airlines plans to add a second Boeing 767-300 freighter already in Q1, 2025.
The two Boeing wide-body freighters will be allocated to serving the carrier's operations on routes between Asia and Europe, starting with flights from Urumqi, in China, to Budapest via Tbilisi, Georgia.
Bolstered by investments from the US-led Gazelle Finance, Camex Airlines obtained its AOC with the Georgian regulator in April 2023 and now has the status as a licensed commercial carrier.
