Nov 27, 2024 (newstodate): Starting from next year, Lufthansa Cargo will add a new destination on its Airbus A321F European short haul freighter network: Katowice, in Poland.
Lufthansa Cargo is planning for a start-up date, yet to be settled, in Q1, 2025, offering two weekly rotations between Frankfurt and Katowice.
To be operated in daytime, the coming new service will be aiming at providing a fast air cargo service from Poland's southern industrial region to North and South America, especially Mexico and Brazil, according to Wojciech Ryglewicz, Lufthansa Cargo Director for Central and Eastern Europe, in an interview with Polish media.
In the Nordic markets, Airbus A321F services currently include flights from Frankfurt to Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki and Stavanger, while Riga remains the only point served in the Baltic markets.
In the fleet of Lufthansa Cargo are only four Airbus 321F aircraft, limiting the company's efforts to grow its European short haul freighter network without axing existing destinations or reducing frequencies.
