Nov 27, 2024 (newstodate): The second Boeing 777F has now been handed over to Maersk Air Cargo.
Immediately after the short ceremony at Seattle, the aircraft took off heading for the carrier's European base at Billund Airport and landed at the destination early this morning.
Maersk Air Cargo took delivery of its first of the two ex-factory Boeing 777F freighter aircraft ordered on July 12, 2024, adding to its fleet now totaling 22 freighters, including also 20 Boeing 767F aircraft.
The Boeing 777F aircraft are serving the China-Europe lanes via Billund Airport.
Launching freighter operations at Billund Airport from March 20, 2023, with three weekly rotations between Billund and Hangzhou, Maersk Air Cargo is today operating daily rotations on the route in addition to ad-hoc operations to and from other European airports.
Starting from October 10, 2024, the carrier is also operating the new Boeing 777-200F aircraft on the route connecting Billund Airport and Ezhou Huahu Airport, in Hubei province, with two weekly rotations.
