Mar 05, 2024 (newstodate): Denmark's Billund Airport is thriving on its new all-cargo customer, Maersk Air Cargo.
In February 2023, volumes reaching 6,847 tonnes were again rising by 40.5 percent, y-o-y, including imports up 74.9 percent to 1,840 tonnes, while export volumes at 5,007 tonnes were also up by 31 percent.
After the first two months of this year, Billund Airport has thus handled a total of 3.823 tonnes, up 32.6 percent, y-o-y, including 4,075 tonnes of imports up 65.7 percent and 9,748 tonnes of exports also rising 22.4 percent, y-o-y.
With the first operation on March 20, 2023, Maersk Air Cargo established its base at Denmark's Billund Airport where the carrier has added a third Boeing 767 freighter to its base now primarily operating six weekly flights to Hangzhou in China, alongside a fourth aircraft serving the ad-hoc market.
