Apr 15, 2024 (newstodate): While hard hit by international sanctions, Aeroflot is still a key player in Russia's air cargo industry.
In March 2024, Aeroflot transported a total of 5,336 tones of cargo, up 10.5 percent, y-o-y, including 5,336 tonnes of international cargo, up 12 percent, and 7,226 tonnes of domestic cargo also up 9.4 percent, y-o-y.
During January-March '24 Aeroflot transported 33,998 tonnes of cargo, which was an increase by 16.2 percent, y-o-y, including 14,429 tonnes of international cargo, up 20.7 percent, and 19,750 tonnes of domestic cargo, rising 13.2 percent, y-o-y.
By comparison, in Q1/2017 Aeroflot lifted 48,831 tonnes and up 45.3 percent, y-o-y; in Q1, 2019, Aeroflot carried 45,832 tonnes while down 3.6 percent, and in Q1/2021 Aeroflot generated 13,986 tonnes, albeit down 16.4 percent, y-o-y, .
